Relaxed Run in the Snow 'till I Rolled an Ankle

Started out wondering why I was even running? With a strong head wind, the kind that makes you dig deep and a light covering of (ice hiding) snow, the first mile sucked!

I started to warm up as I turned onto Hwy 138 and got out of the head wind. However, as I warmed up I had to ditch the neck gator and while crossing the street, watching traffic, chewing gum, and taking the neck gator off, I slipped. After some fancy foot work, I ended up rolling my ankle in the brief fight to stay upright!

So much for a relaxed run; now I'm hopping and stumbling for about half a block! I'm sure I looked pretty goofy like I was just learning how to walk, when I was trying to run. The rest of the run was irritating and had me wondering if it would be worse latter?

Well, the ankle is fine after a shower, so I'll live to fight another day! I think it was an inversion; however, I have no reason to believe anything is torn just stretched. Please see diagram and/or visit this link to learn about types of ankle sprains. I may have to start doing the drunk flamingo in my spare time!

Getting sick of winter,
Chris

P.S. I found some good advice for running in the snow.

P.P.S. Morning Update: My ankle hurts, it feels just like the inversion in the diagram above!
